Grants 2011

Open Competition for Research Project

The GBS Support Group is a UK charity which provides support to sufferers of Guillain-Barré syndrome and chronic inflammatory neuropathies. We have funds available for research projects related to these areas and welcome applications for support from a wide range of disciplines including laboratory science, epidemiology, treatments, and therapies relevant to these conditions.

The deadline for applications is 28 February 2011 for funding to start in September 2011. All projects will be submitted to external independent scientific review and priority given to those felt of the highest quality. A maximum of £80,000 per annum is available. Applications for funding of smaller projects are also welcome. The Guillain-Barré Syndrome Support Group (GBSSG) is committed to supporting research into the causes and treatment of GBS, CIDP and related conditions.

Applications are required by 28 February 2011. All applications will be peer-reviewed and assessed by our Scientific Review Panel.

Full details and application forms may also be obtained from the GBSSG office, admin@gbs.org.uk, tel. 01529 469910.

Information for your Patients and their Families

There is a wealth of information on this site that you can download, print and give to your patients, their families or friends. It may be more convenient to give them our Web address or, if you live in the UK or Republic of Ireland, our Helpline number (see menu left). Perhaps the most convenient way of putting people in touch with us is to download and print our Quick Guide.
