Awareness Week 2009

RO 2009

Our yearbook for 2009 has now been published. It contains full reports of the presentations made at our 2009 Conference, an article on stress and an article on vaccinations that expands upon our current advice. The yearbook also contains a very comprehensive article on GBS reprinted with permission from The Lancet.

Reaching Out 2009 has been distributed to the members and the friends of the GBSSG and will be given free to all those who register for support or subscribe. It is also available for sale at £3 per copy plus a delivery charge.

The Support Group promotes 'GBS - CIDP Awareness Week' every spring.

Awareness Week 2009

The Group's Awareness Week will be 23-31 May. 'Week' is not accurate as it contains two Saturdays which gives more scope for our supporters to hold activities.

The week is intended to give an opportunity for both spreading the word about GBS/CIDP. The week includes the Late Spring Bank Holiday which is traditionally a quiet news period.

With the warmer weather, many will use the week for outdoor activities which include ways not only of raising funds but also raising awareness of publicising GBS/CIDP and the vital work of the GBSSG.

Please consider helping us by publicising the Charity and the illnesses where you live. For example, you might:

  • have a Coffee Morning;
  • organise a dance or disco;
  • undertake a sponsored walk, slim, swim, shave, run etc;
  • place leaflets in your local hospital;
  • write to your local newspaper.

So put your mind to it and see what innovative way that you can find to let people know about GBS and CIDP.
