About Us — Background

RO 2009

Our yearbook for 2009 has now been published. It contains full reports of the presentations made at our 2009 Conference, an article on stress and an article on vaccinations that expands upon our current advice. The yearbook also contains a very comprehensive article on GBS reprinted with permission from The Lancet.

Reaching Out 2009 has been distributed to the members and the friends of the GBSSG and will be given free to all those who register for support or subscribe. It is also available for sale at £3 per copy plus a delivery charge.

The Support Group was founded in 1985 by Glennys Sanders MBE. Its Headquarters are located at Sleaford in Lincolnshire, England. The Group was initially assisted by the GBS Support Group in the USA (now the GBS Foundation International) with which it retains a very close working relationship. The Group is a registered charity (No 327314 & SC039900) employing a part-time staff of two at its Sleaford office.

We provide information and support to those affected by GBS, CIDP and related conditions. Our support activities are restricted to the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. We spread awareness of the illnesses throughout Britain and Ireland and make grants for research projects.
